What’s almost as alarming as the loss of freedoms is the large percentage of Canadians who are content with the erosion of civil liberties. Thousands of Canadians died in two World Wars to protect these rights and many of their descendants just shrug their shoulders as they are curtailed.

Brilliant! This is exactly what we need to hear, especially nowadays with those wanting to keep these basic understandings away from us for their own power grabs.

This was really well-made. What would be a nice follow-up is a deeper dive into what specific rights we have and don't have as Canadians/westerners with regards to COVID, "hate speech", etc. - basically all of the big focal points of disagreements over the past few years when it comes to "your rights end where mine begin". For instance, I've heard several leftist politicians say things such as "we have the right to not get sick", or "we have the right to keep the unvaccinated from endangering our children" when it comes to COVID, and I've heard them say even more absurd things like having the "right to dignity" or "right to not be offended" when it comes to things like transgender pronouns/hate speech. As far as I'm concerned, those "rights" aren't actually codified in our system, and more importantly, the attempts to use government to enforce those fake rights have trampled on the real rights of everybody else (freedom of speech, freedom of travel, freedom of association, freedom of religion, freedom to choose what we put in our own bodies, etc.).

The official response to the pandemic was a full frontal attack on reason as well as the sanctity and sacredness of the individual. It was not only wrong scientifically, medically, socially, educationally, and economically, it was profoundly immoral. It did not occur accidentally or through incompetence, it happened due to unmitigated corruption.

Thank-you Julie and The Democracy Fund for the important work you do. As a homeschool mom, I use your videos for our study of Civics, and your book was an inspiration for teaching about individuals who stand for what is right, even when the majority is wrong. God bless you in your sharing truth, courage and character to a world that is sorely lacking in those traits.

Suspending civil liberties must be based on evidence of harm to others. Seatbelt laws protecting people from themselves do not suspend any civil liberties. Travel restrictions go against the scientific findings of the superiority of infection-induced immunity across all outcomes.

Great Video Julie. I admire your courage to stand up against those who tried to bully you to take the jab. If I may add a few items to your video content. 1) Does the state have jurisdiction OVER our true rights and freedoms? The state does have jurisdiction over rights and freedoms declared in the Charter of 1982 but we the people had rights and freedoms before 1982. What happened to the rights and freedoms before 1982? Who has jurisdiction over our rights and freedoms before 1982 and who created them? Section 26 of the charter clearly states "This act shall not be construed as denying the existence of other rights and freedoms that may exist". The definition of jurisdiction is "the limits or territory within which authority may be exercised". The state knows it only has jurisdiction over that which it creates. That is why it created the charter as "parallel" rights and freedoms that it can now control. The state is the creator and therefore has total authority over the birth certificate, passport, drivers license that you use. Every income, property registered to government issued birth certificates are property of the state. Important to look into the Magna Carta 1215.

When you consider that a lot of animals are freer than a lot of humans, it might give you an indication of where we're at and where we're going.
The thing is: Watcha gonna do about it?

Juggernate...thank you! I'm so glad there are ordinary citizens who can articulate their concerns about our current situation, along with all the efforts by the Honorable Elite Youtubers and Activists like Dr. Ponesse. While hearing from the Honorable Elites is vital, even so, hearing from yourself is too. It's rarely the Dishonorable Elites I'm alarmed by, though they are a bit frightening...it's the cult of ordinary citizens, growing in numbers, who support all this totalitarianism that truly alarm me! Equally, while I appreciate and try to support the Honorable Elites on our side, I'm so very encouraged by people like you speaking up. If I'm to be 'terminated' one way or another for being "inappropriate", for being too low on the social credit score, or for not submitting to a Dear Leader's insane and tyrannical directives, at least I can leave this world in the best of company! So thank you Juggernate and thank you Dr. Ponesse! ...and thank you everyone else who is raising the alarm about the West's eroding civil liberties and the 'suiciding' of all it's historical achievements...and the intent to punish the West's most decent citizens in favor of it's most indecent citizens. We now live in a topsy turvy world...it's getting harder and harder to feel like we're still on solid ground. Lockdowns or no lockdowns.

Canadians wouldn’t know what to do if they weren’t babysat their entire lives. Padded rooms for all!

This was a great introduction to civil liberties. My question on the extent of civil liberties would be how they are interpreted as a reasonable extrapolation from our inalienable rights as defined under Natural Law. Probably a very lengthy academic book in there somewhere.
Got your book Doc, great read, important info. Was the decision tough or just the contemplation of the outcome of that decision?

This is a secular explanation of civil liberties. You could come up with an even stronger case if you tied them to the Preamble to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms which states that “Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law." Locke reacted to what was conveniently taught by the Church, but not to an actual biblical principle. Yes, government is instituted by God inasmuch as it is preferred to anarchy, but if the government passes laws contrary to the character of God and principles of justice, the supremacy of God continues to trump its authority at all times. Recognition of the supremacy of God is what makes civil liberties truly inalienable. I hope this helps.

Speech is thought.

Changes to speech requires requires changes to shared thought.

Thought is shared through speech.
We construct our shared though by means of our speech.

Censored speech is censored thought.

Rather than promoting naive thought by censor speech. Causing the naive to fall victim to the mocker, scoffer and lier. Leading the naive to be a dangerous extremist.

It is wiser to expose LIES and OMISSIONS, giving the naive wisdom to counter the mocker, scoffer and lier.
