Great video regarding general information on tint. The actual "how to" is a lot more involved and can easily be a one hour video lol. I learned myself by watching a few videos online. We all have to start somewhere, and in my case, I used the Walmart film. Of course, I screwed up the first few times, especially the heat shrinking, but eventually got it near perfect. As you mentioned, that cheap film turned purple a few years later so I simply re-did it with better quality film. I have done about 15 or so cars just for fun, so I am NOT an expert but do have some tips for those trying to get into it. Make sure the windows are clean! No matter how well you did everything else, any dirt/dust/etc will ruin the final outcome, especially on darker films. Some cars have more curved passenger windows, so it may be easier to heat shrink those prior to install or else you will be chasing water fingers forever. Try really hard not to screw up the rear windshield, and if you do, remove it as soon as possible. Once film dries, it will be hard to remove the glue around those defroster lines without damage. Many companies online do NOT sell good quality film to average DIY people due to warranty issues, but I ordered my film from Sun-X and have not had issues for years. Be patient and the more you do it, the easier it becomes. If you plan to tint one car, I suggest you just get it done professionally due to the tools you need to buy, etc. Also, refrain from telling your friends and family of your new skill because everyone wants a free tint job lol. Not much comment on professional shops, they are awesome and highly skilled at what they do. If you are the type that does not like people taking your dash panels apart, keep this into consideration as some installers will do that if fitment is tight.

Does how dark the tint is really matter with ceramic tints? I've tried googling and youtube for more info but everything I've found is a comparison between ceramic vs non-ceramic. I really just want clear ceramic film on my car that will have close or similar heat reduction as colored ceramic tint.
