The American Public School System needs to be redone.

Let me speak from personal experience, the majority of students in high school are average or below average (US average (very low)). These students aren't offered much, usually missing opportunities since the school doesnt connect them with any. These students usually laeve high school unprepared for life and have it the hardest after school figuring out their life.

The small amount the other students, about 10% are the ones that the school places "big hopes" in, so what do they do? They throw them into tough AP College level classes where their self-confidence slowly diminishes, they're treated like they need to perform better than everyone else or they have no future. When in reality they shouldn't be thrown into these rigorous courses, instead they should be prepared at a manageable rate, why do they think college application rates are dropping? THERE'S A LACK OF MOTIVATION.

For reference I'm of the 10% of students in tough classes, and we honestly don't learn that much since our foundations are lacking.

To be honest there's an even smaller percentage above us, the very top who are the smartest in our school, the handful of students that are taking courses like Calculus 3 at such a young age, those that are already sending college essays to a variety of schools.

I'm not going to act like I'm not envious, but to tell you the truth, it always kind of bothered me seeing how those guys got the best from their youth.
In reality, a lot of their success is thanks to their parents who were likely able to connect them, tutor them, and help them plan their lives. Meanwhile, the vast majority of parents just drop their kids off at school and let THEM do the raising.

So overall, my point is that schools aren't doing their jobs, they're dealing with people's futures for God's sake.
