Corn harvest limps on... literally.
Our corn head is definitely out for the rest of the season as it needs a new auger, and that auger is days away...
and according to the forecast, so is winter weather.

THANKFULLY, our buddy Jeremy was able to snag us a loaner corn head...
but we only get it for TWO DAYS.
can we get 150 acres off in two days?

Also, our sheep are also breaking up.
and Lucky wants NOTHING to do with this change of events.

Sandi, I’m not sure if you’ll ever see this, but I really do appreciate your vlogs. I’m disabled and pretty much restricted to my home. Living on a farm was a dream and goal of mine prior to becoming diagnosed as disabled due to a plethora of health issues.
Watching your vlogs always brightens my otherwise gloomy days, seeing your bright smile flash across your beautiful face as you interact with your sheep is contagious. Watching you care for and absolutely LOVE your sheep is such a joy. 😊👩🏻‍🌾🐑🫶🏻

It's okay to say "sorry" to your tractor. I apologize to my car when I have to brake hard or when I hit a pothole. It's just showing respect for your tractor. Have a beautiful day❤❤❤😊😊😊

It’s precious when Willow comes up to see you and all these other ewes come up wanting some scratches too. ❤

I'm sitting here in Australia watching all your troubles and just knitting my "bubble & squeak " (made from left over sock wool) socks. I dropped a stitch when Markie Boy slipped getting of that piece of machinery. I had visions of him doing the splits and ending up rupturing his "jazz crackers". Lucky he has lightning reflexes. Did you get all your corn in in time? Yes, it will be good to get back into the Sheep shed. You must have a little time to recharge. Say, 10min. lay in of a morning? Love to all, Joolz.

Ah, the days of harvest, when a combine ALWAYS broke down. One year we grew peas - and they wrapped around the beater bar of our combine. Took two days to unplug it and cut away the vines. In the meantime, the swathed peas blew away into the biggest tumbleweed you will ever see! Word of our problems got round and before we knew it, five combines showed up and did the rest of the field. The best part of farming is the sense of community. We ended up using pitchforks to feed the tumbleweed into a stationary combine. Oh, I also had my second son the next day - at home. As Sandi shows, farming is such a perfect mix of bad times and good, but it sure builds character and inner strength!!
Hugs to you both Sandi and Mark! You're great farmers because you get though it with humor and tenacity combined.😀

I know it's too late but I'd like to see Mark break out doing his Happy Dance at the end of all of the machine problems that occurred towards the end of harvest!

Don't ever hesitate to ask for some prayers when you all are in a bind or need strength. We got your back Sandi.

Heart in throat when Mark slid off the corn head and when the auger started to spin...held my breath thinking the windshield on the combine might be a casualty.

Billy's brother is a mush melon he likes to be loved on and made of. I know rams are dangerous I had one as a child used to head ram us as we hung out the wash, but he too loved to be cuddled we learned to never really turn our backs to lamb o and baa baa ( as you can probably tell we as kids named the sheep, you'd swear she was a dog. Love your channel Mrs. Brock your not afraid to show and tell what it's really like to be a sheep farmer, the good, the bad, and the beautiful. Please keep sharing.

One thing I absolutely love about this at that you show the ups and downs of life and just roll with the punches. Praying your luck changes soon!

So a little story my hubby wants me to pass onto you all. When my sister was little she could not say combine, she always called it a bongine 😅, so when you were talking about the combine in the video. My hubby said she didn't call it right, it's a bongine. 😂😂🤣🤣🤣. He remembered the story I had told him about my sister. Glad things are improving, hope It keeps going well and the corn gets harvested before Friday. God bless you all. Stay safe.

Ag people learn patience in ways nobody else does. If it's not one thing it's something else. Crops, weather, equipment, stock, feed....there's never an easy season, rarely an easy day.

Forgot to comment yesterday, but: For the old girls try putting new foods in their buckets, theres a chance they dont recognize new foods (like pumpkin) as food. My chickens can be like this if we just dump blueberries on the ground, but once they see the food plate they go ham for it. (No guarantee it'll work but thought it'd be worth a try).

P.S. Your goat named Tomatoes 🍅 gave me the final courage to name our unnamed buck Tomatoes. He's an all red boer with a white blaze and his pen is right next to our vegetable garden. He waits for us to give him his favorite garden treat, tomatoes 🍅.

I wonder if Mark loses his cool ever. Seems like he stays so calm during all the ups and downs of farm life. We used to scatter for a while until Dad calmed down. ♥️

I've talked to & thanked every semi truck I've driven over the years. I pat them on the fender before starting a trip, thank them once we arrive & apologize for every pothole I didn't miss, tell them how beautiful they are as I do a walk-around after getting them washed, etc. On particularly stout hills/grades, I have a pep talk for the truck all the way up & back down &.... yeah. Perfectly normal! 😉
I was impressed by your "focus" when you were separating the girls & boys. I gotta hand it to you... if I was really tired... I couldn't have done that! All the left & right with one hand & up & down with the other... it would have been more like a trial run because I had nothing but time to spare! 🙄😆
AS ALWAYS, I AM IMPRESSED.
GOD BLESS YOU GUYS & SEE YOU THRU TO THE END OF A GOOD, SAFE HARVEST!!
