For anyone who wasn’t alive or didn’t follow the wnba the houston comets were dominant and very controversial when the wnba first started! They had three great players Cooper, Swoopes and Tina Thompson; they won four straight championship! Now the controversy was they dominated and would blow teams out and for a new league you want parody and competition, I truly believe this helped the wnba get off on the wrong foot and they never recovered, nobody watched because they new the comets had the dominant team & would win- guys they won the championship the first four years the league was in existence and on the flip side the New York liberty was their opponent 3 of the four times! I always felt like the wnba made a huge mistake by not breaking those players up to strengthen competition!
