Thank you Bill, never ever underestimate as I know you do the importance of ‘basic’. You are a true educator. Regards from an aged teacher

A side tip: If you use the full rectified sinusoid waveform, you can output an almost sinusoid signal from 80 to 160 MHz - it will be with twice the set frequency. You can use it to test the receiving stages of UHF and FM receivers and similar.

Excelente contenido, muchas gracias por dirigirse a los que tenemos poca experiencia. Saludos desde ciudad de Mexico.

question. I did not understand why the waveform amplitude increased slightly when you touch the metal can.is this sort of like grounding? I know when I touch leads of volume control on radio I get increase in noise.is this similar?
thanks
John

Thumbs up again for an informative video. Have you done one on the tracking generator function of your spectrum analyzer.

What I want to know is how are the hook ups done from signal generator to oscilloscope? Nobody ever explains that. All the videos I have seen nobody mentions it and shows it.

Hello, I wanted to ask if the JUNTEK PSG9080 generator can be programmed where the sequence of various signals is programmed in the FUNC tab so that SWEEP, VCO and modulation work?
If you don't know, please try, I really need to know, I'm making a choice.

What is needed to create a 1khz signal at -10db??

Hello. I have a SeeSii AFG that looks identical to the one you have here set for 1kHz sine wave of around 3 volts. Basically the same as the reference signal on the scope itself. I also have a Rigol DS1202Z-E Scope, and it syncs to its 1kHz reference signal just fine. When I plug Channel 1 or 2 out of the function generator into Channel 1 or 2 of the scope, I'm not able to get the signal to sync. It jitters a great deal and won't settle in. I have the scope Trigger set to channel 1 or 2 respectively, rising trigger, and it is adjusted to be in the mid-upper half of the signal, the same as I do for the scope ref signal which works fine. The only way I can get it to lock in is if I attach the trigger out of the function generator to the Ext of the scope and trigger the scope on it. I don't remember ever having trouble doing this before or ever having to tie the generator trigger to the scope. My concern is if my function generator has an issue or not. Both the scope and the generator are brand new. I see other users on here attach their leads to the scope and it come right up just fine. So I'm wondering if I have a bad generator or if I'm missing a setting on my scope, or is there some special condition between a function generator and a scope. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you for any info you could provide!

I would love to see a video going through the walkthrough of making the rf coil and using it to troubleshoot an old tube radio. I know it seems like a simple concept, but I'm a visual learner, so I would love to see how many coils and the length of wire used to create the "antenna" for the generator.

Also, the "cycles per second", "kilocycles per second", and "megacycles per second" was used because of the anti-German sentiment at the time (just a little fun fact for everyone).

Nice! I need to make a special application signal of one sec length, with different positive and negative amplitude spikes. 5v or less would work for each reoccurring spike, with negative and positive volt being different. Freq is easy but changing the spike amplitudes to different levels is a challenge for me. What do you suggest as I can make a circuit? Integrator circuit perhaps with either a separate limitor chip for positive and negative spikes then rejoin the signals through a mixer? Is there an easier way? Idk
Base is 0 btw and the 1 hertz signal is continuous.

Can this unit be programmed with a math formula, like on a graphing calculator?

Birmingham or Black Country? I'm in the later. I'm a hobbyist working on embedded projects and analogue computers. Good video. Subscribed.
