If you let a child away with this, they are going to push the limits further. They will think they are invincible. If there is no penalty for bad behaviour, it becomes normal, and they move on to the next big crime

Punish the parents because they should be accountable for their children. If my kid throws a ball through the neighbors window then I would and did pay for that window to be fixed! If my 11 year old took the neighbors car for a joy ride then I need to have that car inspected by a professional to determine the damage or no damage! Also any money or expenses incurred because of the car theft including time lost and rental fees should be covered by the parents of the minors joy ride. Parents are liable for their child’s actions!

This is BS. We have juvenile detention. Lock them up. Put them through a program to teach them how to be productive members of society.
