Weimaraner loose lead walking...

One of the most frequent conversions I have with other dog owners (particularly Weimaraner owners) is regarding dogs pulling on a lead. We picked up lots of tips from @southenddogtraining who is on YouTube, Instagram, Ticktock and Facebook and those tips have helped us lots. Consistency is the key.

If he pulls, the correction we use is to pull up on the lead and use the heel command. We stop/change direction of he continues to pull. One of the main pointers we also use is to make sure he is calm before we even leave the house. This has previously taken us up to 10 minutes before we could even leave. If we stop at a kerb, he will stop and take the sit position.

Weimaraners are fast learners so as long as you're consistent, the dog will not take to long to take it all in.

In the UK it is the law to have a dog on a lead on public pavements so it's easier to have him walking in a calm manner whilst in the lead. When we get to the open fields, he's free to walk/run off lead.

Hope these tips help. If so, or if you just like the content, select the like button, comment and subscribe to our channel. Also follow us on Instagram @Sisa_and_Amma
