Classification of Modules over a PID: The Proof of Theorem 4 (Algebra 2: Lecture 28 Video 1)

Lecture 28: In this lecture we completed the proof of Theorem 4 in Section 12.1 of Dummit and Foote.  At the very end of the lecture we showed how to go from the Invariant Factor Decomposition of a finitely generated module of a PID to its Elementary Divisor Decomposition.

Reading: We closely followed the proof of Theorem 4 in Section 12.1 given in Dummit and Foote.  The very last argument came from right before Theorem 6 on page 464.
