Thor breaking his attachment to Mjolnir was part of his character growth. Like Odin said, he’s not Thor, god of hammers. He’s leaving his comfort zone and allowing himself to grow.

mjolnir is infused with lightning so a weilder of mjolnir can use lightning
stormbreaker enhances the power of thunder so it would just be a heavy axe to everyone else

Nah cause he doesn't view Cap as lesser than himself. He also says in age of ultron that Asgardian alcohol is not for mortal men, and then immediately hands some to Cap. So I think he does this because Cap has fought alongside that hammer and done combos with it for a long time, and so he'll be more effective with it

Mjolnir was created exactly same way by exactly the same dwarfs if he can wield mjolir he can wield stormbreaker but he has to be worthy to wield mjolnir because of oden spell

The only reason why captain would have no use of the axe is because only the hammer grants those who are worthy the power of Thor!

Pretty sure they edited this out of the Disney+ version, cause this was my favorite line in theaters, and it’s never there when I rewatch

Also, stormbringer wasn't enchanted by Odin so Captain America wouldn't be able to wield the power of Thor with stormbringer. We even see that when he's holding stormbring and we notice that doesn't have any of Thor's powers
