But even after these many efforts sales have started declining, in 2024 very less people seem to be interested in electric cars.

Japanese auto manufacturers knew it well. That's why they did not went 100% into EV mode. Hybrids are the future not 100% EV's.

World’s first hybrid was Toyota Prius launched in 1997. Toyota is doing great in hybrid market. I own plug-in one and it’s just amazing. Great mileage and comfort.

Nothing makes me more happy knowing that EV sales are declining. If you make the video which you mentioned then it'll be icing on the cake

People were criticising Toyota globally and maruti in India for not jumping into ev hype. These companies were right all along.

Let the EV people wait for govts to remove the subsidies completely... that will reveal the true picture. Not to mention, those subsidies are coming from taxing the ICE cars.

Thank you for this video. You are the first to highlight this slump in EV sales from India and to highlight the Indian scene - though I must admit I have seen several videos on the subject from Tubers outside the country. Please also make the video you proposed

I predicted that this will happen. In fact this is just the start. Once the first batch of EVs (both 2/4 wheelers) complete their battery cycle (8-9 years) - you'll see that Indian customers wouldn't spit on these.

You missed a major reason. In the US, during the recent winter season, people saw rapid decline in their battery percentage due to cold weather. Almost all the EVs were depleting battery charge while in standy by mode.

1) USA EV policies changing from time to time and its so unlear and complex that perople are holding off purchasing Teslas for now.
2) GiGA Berlin attack shuts down Tesla manufacturing, leading to missing production targets.
3) Tesla has no demand constratint, but a supply constraint. Also, a lot of people now wants a Cybertruck instead of Model Y.
4) Tesla has 18% margin on avegage, BYD and TATA are known to make profits, rest Rivian to Lucid to Ford, all loose thousands of dollars on selling EVs. The more they sell them, the more they bleed.
5) I own Nexon EV LR2023, i dont have range anxiety anymore ansd i charge free in office 16 Amp AC chargers, only in highways I had to pay exorbitant power prices in Shell EV or Statiq chargers, which is always once in a long travel while. Anyway, I bough the EV for its very low NVH, and immediate torque, all latest features, great looks, something you have to shell a crore for a similar ICE counterparts. Safety and handling like a sedan, though being a small "coupe SUV" and lowest running cost and greatest reliability.
6) Hybrids sale has increased by cannibalizing the pure ICE category and there is a slum in global ICE sales as well. No boday is pointing to that. People are CORRECT in opting for hybrids instead of pure ICE behicles as they save money in the long term and is the best of both worlds.
7) Very important point people forget is that in USA and Europe ICE vehicles are less than half the price of the EVs and are mostly catered to the luxury segment.
8) Even on buring Coal, power plant is 35% + efficient, compaired to ICE engines which are 20% efficient. Even, with transmission loss counted EVs are still less polluting. EV is a part of the solution cycle, in conjunction with renewable power. Also, nobody talks about that petroleum exploration, refining and transpoert, oil spills takes a huge toll on the environment. When you burn 1 L Petrol in your car, you actually have burned atleast 2 L of it, due to the energy required to refine and transport it.
9) Mining of Lithium causes environmental pollution. YES offcourse, all mining does. So you mine GOLD as well...what about that. In LION battery, Lithium is 4% by weight, Also, as Gold or Silver or Copper, once extracted, they are not thrown away in the air like Fossil fuels, they are recycled. Hence, lithium extraction is a one time thing and can be reused infinitely. Where can we find a better Lithium ore than the used up degraded battery itself?
10) Car lithium batteries has a cycle life of 2000 to 3000. If NEXON EV LR gives a minimum of 300 KMS per cycle, then the life comes to KMS after which the heath of the battery will be 80% of original. Lets keep that theory aside. Nexon EV comes witth 1.6 L KMS or 8 Years of battery warrany. I am not going to drive any vehicle which has crunched more than 1L KMS anyway.
11) Hybrids are double whammy....now you have both EV parts and ICE parts and both has ro be maintained and since there are too many parts, possibility of breakdown become higher, plus you pay the cost of both.

Overall, this video is again another video where the creator tells one side of the truth.

In india, EV's aren't eco-friendly at all. Because majority of our power comes from thermal power plant which is very polluting in nature!

You hit the right topic today. Akio Toyoda had this vision long back when everyone was shouting EVs. There is a lot of things one needs to learn from a manufacturer like Toyota. And yes, I have also scoured the inetrenet regarding the extraction of these minerals but no good videos, probably because of the patented processess ?
Hope its not late for Indian lobby to shift to hybrids from EVs, I heard they have already invested heavily into EVs(BeVs).
