My first viol (a 7-string treble) arrives in a week or so, so this will be my go-to source of bowing information. Viola players have been recommending viols for old/older viola players suffering as I do from arthritis. Treble viols see to come in both fretted and fretless versions. I chose a fretless instrument but am under the impression that I can tie on frets at a later date.
