We know Apple's AirPods Max are premium Luxury headphones but could they ACTUALLY be worth $549? After a month of near-daily use and hours of testing and comparing them to my Audio Technica's, Bose NC 700, Sony XM4 and XM3 here are my honest thoughts.

In this review, I talk about why I want to return them and if I will, noise cancelation, sound quality, soundstage, clarity, instrument separation, 3.5mm Wired operation with and without charge, battery life, charge times, wattage, ANC active noise cancelation, ambient mode or transparency,

Honestly, I’d never workout with over-ear headphones. I’d much rather use something smaller like AirPods Pro or PowerBeats Pro.

I would buy them if Apple:
- Add a possibility to turn them off manually w/o this dumbass case.
- By the way, the case should be designed with the purpose to protect headphones during transportation, otherwise, it is a burdening, useless piece of garbage
- The headphones should be lighter: this is the reason why I am waiting for the sports version. Hope that Apple will be able to add at least some of these features.

I had NO problem returning my AirPods Max. The condensation issue with the ear cups has become widespread and the battery issue loses about 32% in the Smart Case after being stored for 20 hours. You do too much click bait and all your videos do are kiss up to Apple. These things have HUGE flaws including the clanking of the ear cups if you don't take them out carefully from the Smart Case. I took them out on cup at a time and then swiveled them to their side so I can take out the other cup, swiveled it and there was no clanking. That can cause long term damage to the aluminum. The engineers failed with this device. SOOOO much potential, but the condensation and battery issues can cause users to suffer electrical shocks. Stop kissing up to Apple, please. Talk about BOTH the good and the bad in FULL detail. Your videos do not feel genuine at all.

I don’t know why people compare the AirPods max with the airpod pros. They are two entirely different categories of headphones and complementary in my view. I decided to buy a Max a whole year later even though I have a XM4 because a) they are significantly down in price b) they will pair better with my Apple ecosystem, I have two iPads, an iPhone and a Mac mini, the xm4 can only connect to two of them

I got my AirPods Max on 12/15 with no intention to return them. I used them extensively (flight too) and they were great. They definitely sounded high quality and everything was great until I compared them to AirPod Pros. I might not have the best ear for distinguishing sound but I honestly couldn’t see much difference in the sound between the two except APM having deeper/more cinematic bass than APP (APP by no means a slouch), and maybe slightly fuller sound. As for noise cancelling the APM were great but varied based on your head movement. APP are consistent and in some cases even blocked out more sound (specifically with an air vent). For these reasons, I returned the APM yesterday. They sound great and don’t fail to deliver in any way except for the fact that I don’t see a $400 improvement (got APP for $180 on Black Friday) over APP. Their build is super premium I’ll give them that, but I wasn’t blown away by the sound over the APP to justify the price. As for condensation I didn’t experience it yet but I mostly used indoors (70 F) only.

Max, I have to comment on this review. Once again in the course of your review you don’t seem to focus on what is important in headphones of this type. This is a high fidelity headphone. In this category audiophiles will typically pay $500-$2000 for a pair of headphones. These headphones are in that category. The most important thing about a pair of headphones is how good they sound. Not if they are as convenient as a pair of AirPod pros or what their case looks like. The point is high-quality audio. I also noticed in your video that you were streaming Spotify. Spotify does not stream in Hi-Rez. That’s why I stopped using it along time ago. You cannot get optimal sound quality from a source that is mediocre to begin with. Apple Music now offers lossless audio as well as Dolby Atmos. When you’re paying over $500 for a pair of headphones, the point is audio perfection. That’s what these headphones are for. Also these types of reviews tend to bait you with the idea of you don’t think they’re good enough but then you wind up saying they are in fact excellent. Kind of silly. If you want convenient mediocre headphones, there are plenty of those. If you want high definition high end headphones, these are a reasonably priced option. I have never heard such impressive sub bass in a pair of headphones before. The sound stage in these headphones is remarkable as is the separation and detailing. That is what matters most in a device of this sort. Perhaps that should be the headline of this video. Cheers.
