I read an article in the New York Times many years ago that showed two Afghan men strategically located on a ledge in the mountains with assault rifles. The photo showed them looking out below into the flat distance. Supposedly they could hold a small army at bay for several months picking their victims at will. I believed it. They were sheltered. Of course technology has improved. But strategy is important. And they’re a rugged, battle-hardened people.
