Another lovely exchange, and a great take, Tim.
She says she's more on the pessimistic side and sees the darker things. I can attest that in my teens, I was drawn to sci-fi, Occult and horror, then, , in my 20s and 30s, as an artist/musician in the alternative/industrial scene, that was my orientation/world view, as well.
Now, in my 50s, I find it very hard to relate to after decades of personal growth and spiritual expansion. I would say that she's definitely on the right path and as these ideas continue to be of keen interest, all the more they will land and I feel that she, too, will undergo the changes I did. Great conversation. I have lived this. Social media and so called news outlets feed on fear. Many historians and social scientists point out these are the safest times to experience being human on this beautiful planet. Not to ignore the evil that plagues our planet - environmental and other forms of collapse which will require acceptance, resilience and transformation. The goal is to live life in the fullest and not get brought down by the darkness. Balance is the key.

That apocalyptic view as existed throughout history and it does make you wonder if it’s just pessimism or a deep intuitive insight that society etc is not going overall in the direction it should be that is sustainable and in the long run they are correct in ways - Things generally are far better for more people but not all and now that 8-9 billion people on the planet means the number of those suffering is still very high

Honestly, I've always been enamored with the Big Bounce Universe Theory. Proponents argue that our cosmos didn't emerge on its own out of nothing. Instead, advocates claim, a prior universe shrunk in on itself and then regrew into the one we live in. This may have happened once or, according to some theories, an infinite number of times! Mr. Freke, sometimes I wish that you would have crusaded across America after you wrote that Jesus Mysteries book and single handedly destroyed our bible belt lol. Maybe in your next lifetime you can truly prevent the elections of George Bush and Donald Trump?
