There was a Palestinian state in Gaza from 2005 to 2023, 18 years of self-determination that ended with the declaration of war on Israel on October 7, 2023. Instead of building a legitimate state, all Hamas did was dig tunnels in order to destroy Israel. The two-state "solution" is a permanently dead idea.

Any discussion of a two state solution post 7 October is going to fall on deaf ears. Firstly, no state should negotiate/bargain with terrorists – no matter the cost. Secondly, there was never a Palestinian People and there was never a Palestinian state. Discussions of Palestinian rights to sovereignty are based on figments of imagination and gross distortions of historical fact. Arabs must leave Gaza and West Bank as they have since 1948 been a thorn in the flesh of Israel. They contribute nothing to the region excluding violence. Time to change that permanently.
