As always, thanks for watching everyone. Sony shooters, what else are you losing other than your wallet switching systems?

😔 I feel when people debate these points they are always comparing instead getting better at their craft. The end viewer will never care or say this image would be better if it were full frame vs APSC or vice versa. Having shot both and switching from Canon apsc to Sony full frame and now back to Fuji apsc, I’m not missing anything with full frame. I’ve never wished for more bokeh, nor has anyone ever viewed my work and could tell which camera I used. Use the right tool for the job...there’s no substantial difference really.

May I make a couple of points without inferring negativity?
1) A 16mm lens on an APS-C camera doesn't "become a 24mm", it just has the angle of view of a 24mm lens on FF and the lens is not cropped as it uses the entire image circle on the camera sensor.
2) An f1.4 on APS-C is not "equivalent" to f2 on full frame, as it will need the exact same exposure as f1.4 on full frame, so low light capability is the same. What does happen is that the DOF at f1.4 on APS-C is like it is an f2 on full frame. Now take your FF camera and look at the difference between the DOF at f1.4 and f2 the difference is visible, but hardly earth shattering.

The Fuji system provides a 55mm f1.2 lens (equivalent to 85mm f1.8) and several f1.4 lenses. I personally moved from a Nikon D4 and D750 system to entirely Fuji XT and have not missed size difference. Of course people preferences vary, so this is just me. Happy shooting folks. :)

The internal 10bit 4k/60 makes it all worth it. With Ibis built in the camera and some of the fuji lenses, its like walking around with a gimbal. If your not a landscape photographer i think the Fuji kills the Sony. The new menu system, flippy screen, and Eterna profiles are really milestones over the Sony. Even with the a6600 on sale for $900 on B&H student discount, i still rather wait for the XT4. Even with the a7iii for $1600 on sale i'd still get the Fuji

Exposure meters don't worry about is F is DOF changes and effective angle changes, but light PER area is the key to exposure.

So a 1.4 lens is always a 1.4 lens. It let's in less photons. Sure. But a FF needs more photons to be the same always miff that. And after this I'll get 20000x trolls hitting me.

BTW, both systems are great. I like the interface of the fuji's better. Simple as that. Knobs....

I miss the dynamic range of my full frame Sony A7RIII. Fujifilm lenses are a little chatty too, but the pictures are amazing out of the camera will keep mine until the Sony A7IV blows everyone out of the water again. For professional work it’s Sony for me.

Lens selection is the big one for us. The 24mm 1.4 GM, the 135mm 1.8 GM are among our favourites. Sonys under appreciated dynamic range also.

I found my Sony A7III struggled with all lenses in lower light. My Fujifilm X-H1 does at times but I would say the X-H1 is as good if not better autofocus.
Another issue with Sony wide angle lenses is the barrel distortion. Try fixing that when your client is waiting on their photos.
Do not even say Photoshop magic button will fix it. lol.

I switched from X-T3 for several reasons. AF pumping, tracking and modes kept driving me crazy and I love Sonys smooth video AF now. Full frame bokeh looks way better in my bokeh-addicted opinion. Also auto ISO stuttering is no issue anymore. Looking forward to your next videos with the X-T3! This one was very idiotic by the way, love it!

Rockville MD? I live near there! Gotta love the crazy weather that makes no sense in the Spring!

I want to switch over so bad for 10bit color and overall detail / color science of Fuji but these are 2 features that Sony has over Fuji which I feel are huge.

1) Audio recording even at high frame rates. (Got to get that sound design for b-roll yo!)

2) Not sure about A7iii but my A6400 has memory recall. Saves 3 different custom presets from aperture, shutter speed, frame rate, iso, picture profiles down to saturation, sharpness etc etc etc. Makes switching to different settings on the fly so easy especially for weddings or events where you can't tell everyone to hold up while you change settings. Wish Fuji would implement that.

I wish people would be more precise in their language. Crop factor only matters if you're framing the shot the same way. A 16mm lens always resolves at 16mm. It does not magically become a 24mm lens. Nor does it lose a stop, because a 16mm lens will almost always have more depth of field than a 24mm lens. You're using a shorthand to talk about how sensor size influences creative choices, but the sensor itself does nothing other than limit the field of view.

I think people don’t seem to get that if you need that extra bokeh, or anything that the Fuji doesn’t offer... then the Fuji isn’t really for you. And that’s okay. Some people need full frame for what they do. Some people don’t. I use Nikon full frame and the Fuji XT3. I love my Nikon, but I very rarely use it compared to the XT3 because I don’t feel I lose anything that I actually need. Use what checks the right boxes on your list of needs.

Since I got used to the look of the Bokeh and stronger DOF falloff of the FullFrame sensor, it is really hard to go back. Another thing I absolutely love as I prefer shooting with fixed focal length for their wide apertures is to have the APS-C mode on a custom button, that gives me the versatility of a zoom lens kind of. For example switching between 35mm and 50mm instantly goes a long way for me. ... BUT I think Fuji did awesome job on improving the xt4 and I think of getting ot as a second camera for special video tasks.

How about picture quality and dynamic range compared to fuji ? i’ve owened an XT30 which has the same sensor as the XT3, it didnt let me down in videos but i was very disappointed with the photos and i’m thinking of buying an A7iii

I have moved from a canon full frame to Fuji and I’m.not sure why your getting better focus via the fringer pro adapter then the native lenses? I found the complete opposite maybe cause I do more stills, but I found nothing but headaches using canon lenses via fringer on Fuji bodies, constant lock ups focus not accurate, I am using the XT3 FYI, Also being a wedding photographer for me they have all the lenses I could ever want, currently I have 7 primes and 3 zooms. Every wedding is different I don’t pull them all out on every wedding but at least I know I have any situation low light or whatever presents itself covered. Which area do u think Fuji need to improve there range of lenses in?

Lens apperture 1.4 is always 1.4 in terms of light gathering. No matter what the size of sensor is.

Great video as always. Just a quick question. I'm switching from Canon to the X-T4 when it comes out, & I desperately want to keep my 18-35 F1.8 sigma art lens. Have you tested the Fringer adaptor over long periods of time, not just 1 one wedding? I just don't want to buy the Fringer and it ends being a waste of money.

I had exactly the same problem with 16mm and the xh1 pulsing in and out, have now sold all my Fuji gear

finally someone tell the truth, I love my fujifilm cameras but i hate the lenses, good glass are old and fuji not willing to release second version of them, and there is no F2 zoom lenses
