LED rechargeable work light

LED rechargeable work lights are now very popular as they are cool to touch and give an excellent light. Because these are rechargeable there is no annoying lead to get in the way when you are working. The LED work light in this video is 20 watts and the battery is supposed to last for 4 hours once it is fully charged, but unfortunately is only lasts about half of that time. However the quality of light is very good and this light does make working in dark conditions much easier

Has it a couple of light power modes. High and low. If it has the time of running is for the lower light. It usually says up to four hours.

think i'll get a powered one because I'm often outside doing DIY until late! Thanks for showing how bright they are, , TS have a 30W so hopefully should be even brighter :)

lol @ everyone complaining. this is an awesome channel that gives great information and reviews of both products & tools along with techniques. it covers all the bases of general DIY so i don't know what these guys are coming for here if this does not appeal to them

Another excellent honest review, thank you.I use a similar model in the garage for when working around the bottom the engine / places where the strip lights do not illuminate well. Brilliant pieces of kit and worth a place in any garage, As for the duration of mine, no idea. I recharge it after each occasion of use.

I have a similar floodlight and have the same problem with the battery life and can only run it off mains when there's still juice left in the battery otherwise it flicks on and off like you mentioned, I've been looking at the makita DML801z for the lxt range and the light can apparently last 8hrs+ from a 4.0Ah battery, plus when it runs flat can just plug in another battery dewalt also do one for their XR range and seen them on site and they're very bright for their size!

Hmmm, bit disappointing being not as described but the Screwfix one is only 10w output and rated at 3 hrs and a similar price. Still the magnets are a nice touch, at least they'd enable you to stick it on the side of the bin lorry when it passes! lol.
Nice review (as always) cheers.

these leds are normally driven at around 600ma so they are hungry on current it would be intresting to see what battery pack in inside the unit.

Hi chez, check if it as got a small switch on it somewhere, i have a similar one although a different brand and it as a switch for turning to a lower output which makes the lamp last twice as long a thought because when i first got mine i did not see the switch and was only getting about 2 hours of use and of course i did not read the instructions.... : )

there is space inside the black box for extra batteries, so you can double the running time

Great and honest review as always.
I actually bought the smaller version of that from screw fix, it's bright does the job. I've not yet tested to see how long it will last. The one I have is waterproof can be used outside whilst it's raining, also the LED makes it cool to the touch! Don't need to worry about burns! May I ask where you bought that light from? I'm slightly sceptical of how long my one will last for from a full charge.

hi chez bit off the subject here but what type of lights do you recommend for garages like a small work shop, cheers john.

I was thinking of buying a couple for work, I might just do that now..

as you will know if you divide the mah by the led constant current draw it will give to expected run time but most battery packs don't even last 50% of the capacity they are supposed to be rated for ...nice light though

Tempted by these but just can't justify it as I got too many lamps! My primary source of light is from my 18v Makita florocent lamp which gives a good light and lasts quite a long time.
