This makes it super clear to me, we need to combat psychological conditioning, preconceptions, egocentric bias, etc which is next to impossible, most ways this happens is the old generation dies off.

the corporate control of government and media allow for the GOP establishment to embrace their far-right wing base. For that same reason, that allows the Dem establishment to shun their left wing/young base.

middle aged people realize the change will not come soon enough and focus on getting themselves comfortable

You do not address the largest block of voters! The independents. I am an independent progressive. A Bernie person. I feel that the DNC will eventually fold because independents will keep pulling the party left. Those who stay on the right need to join the GOP.

By now, I think most of us have realized that there is no reforming the Democratic Party. We need to leave the Democratic party and form a new party.

The Democratic party is portraying global center left ideas as far left radical ideas, this puts it in perspective of where the democratic party actually sits on the political spectrum. From a Canadian and European perspective the Dems are a right wing party and the Republicans are far right entering extreme on issues. Tough spot to put the average Joe who wants Healthcare and social safety nets.

As people age they move conservative. Fact.
There will always be a youth progressive wing.
But it will never be beyond that. As our population is getting older on average, progressivism has no chance. Thankfully.

I don't know, maybe the young people who DIDN'T show up don't actually support this "new radical Left." I personally know many young Democrats who don't like the radical Left but they are more concerned about their games, relationships, and careers rather than politics right now.

Both parties do the same thing. We're evil but the other side is worse so you have to vote for us. It's all a game.

The problem for Dems is half of them have moved WAY to the left. So you have moderate and far left Dems. Where as most people on the right have the same views today as 10 years ago.

So the Dems will split their vote up while the right is more unified
