You’d think by now NASA would learn some lessons but I guess not. I could never do what all those astronauts have done and are doing, but I commend them for doing it.

Brett, It isn't a matter of asking for help. There are no open docking ports for new transport crafts.
The space station has 8 docking ports. 4 for the USA, and 4 for Russia. Russian ports have a different design than ours, and 2 of the US ports are designed for cargo modules only. That means there are only 2 ports that can receive the SpaceX transport. Unfortunately, both of those ports are already ocuupied by crafts. One is filled with the broken boeing pod, and the other is from SpaceX for the current US astronaughts that will be leaving in the fall.
They LITERALLY cant save them without destroying one of the crafts.
