Bright Eyes is my favorite band, ever. I connect with their older stuff and their newest stuff. I have loved growing up with Conor.

Listen to a band called Girls. There are no Girls in the band but whatever. They only have 3 albums but they are all bangers. Its like.... so beautiful. Start with the wont Broken Dreams Club for a taste of them if you like beautiful and slow. Lust for Life is upbeat and fun. Low-fi. 60s kinda surfer realness. I suck at explaining music genres succinctly because lots of bands play different genres in one album! Anyway whatever lol. Call it indie rock at the end of the day.

The Stranglers - I find them very musically focused, for example the intro to ‘down in the sewer’.
‘Peaches’ is also great!

Lifted or I'm wide awake it's morning are good starting points. But I also think it depends on your taste. Fevers and Mirrors and Digital Ash are also extremely underrated imo. Eta: Noise Floor is also especially underrated and an absolutely beautiful album.

Absolutely check out the dead kennedys! They are easily one of the best punk bands lol.

I would reccomend starting with fresh fruit for rotting vegetables!
