Bridging Learning Analytics to Learning Design through a Pattern Language Based Learning Design Studio
At a seminar on open and innovative education, Prof. Nancy Law, Professor in the Information and Technology Studies Division of the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong, described the ongoing work on a project involving the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She discussed the open learning design platform called the Learning Design Studio (LDS) being developed as part of the project. She explained how the LDS, which is underpinned by a learning design pattern language developed by the team, captures the design of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses).
