Mixing trick for balancing your 808 and kick!
Want to make your 808s sound punchier and more powerful in your mixes?
Try using a multi-band compressor to sidechain the sub-frequencies of the 808 and the kick drum.
Every time the kick drum hits, the sub-frequencies of the 808 will be reduced in volume, creating more space in the mix for the transients of the kick drum.
