The Evolution of Comanche (1992 - 2021) - A Comparison

In this video I make a detailed comparison of all Comanche games since 1992. The Comanche helicopter, discontinued by the US Army in 2004, was the template for this very popular action flight simulation series. The first part from 1992 was the first game ever to offer voxel graphics and was considered spectacular. The series continued until 2001, but then the developer Novalogic went bankrupt. A successor, made by NUKKLEAR and THQ Nordic, did not appear until 2021. Which game from the series do you like best?

The voxels were amazing back in the day. I really thought it was the future of games until Doom and Quake decided everything would be polygons instead.

That true voxel rendering, (not minecraft cubes) is so beautiful, to think a 90s pc could do that, what graphics could look like today, also what exaggerated jpeg compression artifacts and transparencies would look like in 3d.

Comanche 3 Gold was the highlight of the series, it was downhill from there.

Childhood memories. I played those first versions up to Gold so much. I loved the Novalogic games; Delta Force, Armoured Fist, F-22 Raptor. All classics. That last Comanche game is pure rubbish. I wonder who ever actually played that?

i miss comanche 3/gold was best era also there was gunship! and comanche vs hokum enemy engaged (also apache longbow game 1 and 2) at that time now it is DCS for high realism sim

Comanche 4 lost ground for me when I managed to destroy a tank with a Stinger. I uninstalled the crap and never looked at it again!

Doing a fucking remake of Comanche 4 with Unreal was so a bad idea?? What the fuck is Comanche 2021 with "repair missiles" and garbage stuff? I want Sa-8, many Ka-50 chasing to ambush and the protecting Italian president (lol) mission. Just do Comanche 4 with many new missions with better graphic and sound.
