Security tab missing in folder properties windows 10 - FIX

There is an option in windows 10 where you could disable or enable the security tab. Security tab is used give permission to different users in the computers. In someways, if you disable the security tab, you could make your computer more secure. So, in this video, I'll show you both how to turn it on or off using windows powershell.

Disable Security Tab
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer /v Nosecuritytab /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

Enable Security Tab
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer /v Nosecuritytab /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

IMPORTANT: If you get the access denied error when running the code in the PowerShell, please make sure you Run PowerShell as administrator. If that still didn't work, please try Command Prompt instead of Power Shell.

I did these steps exactly and when i then tap on properties instead of getting a settings tab i got a previous version and offline files how do i fix this

It is not working for Local disk (HDD), my HDD suddenly shows is not accessible. The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable. I've tried several process and solved in my laptop as the time of solution my security tab was enable when HDD inserted in another laptop since that time same earlier message was showing. If I'll get security option in local HDD after all I can solve corrupted problem but security option is required. Both laptop was windows 8.1 OS. My HDD change into RAW format instead of NTFS. I've taken EaseUS recovery help they're showing my files at the time of scanning but at the time of retrieve it is giving another files.

I have the worst luck with computers. Im working on a book and this problem keeps setting me back..this time a few weeks. It's still denying me access when I type in the code, but it worked with a flash drive I have when I tested it. I have an external hard drive that I use and it always does this...but this is the first time the security tab didn't show up for me to gain access..I have to go on a f***ing Indiana Jones quest just to access my files. Its denying me access but all the tips I find for gaining access make me go through the security tab. Really frustrating.. I honestly hate computers now..ready to do my writing on a typewriter...rather dig through papers at this point. any suggestions?

P.S. I have to move the hard drive a lot between work and home and it doesn't even give me the option to eject it...so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Darn. This didn't work either. I'm trying to access my EFI partition. I gave it a drive letter, but I still can't get the security tab on just that one drive. Rest of the system has it. Windows update doesn't have enough room.

It worked once but later the security tab went missing.
Now the command in cmd says "Access is denied"

question do you have one for a portable drive? cuz its not popping up the security thing and i dont have full permissions to the drive for some reason and i don't know how to fix it and i don't want to make things worse.

Hi, I can access the security tab when I select 1 individual file/folder. However, when I select multiple items, the security tab is not there. I tried this fix but still can't get it to work. I have many files on the root directory that I can't access unless I go in and give admin rights to it. But there are hundreds of files on the root directory. Thank you for your help.
