My 11yo son just bought one of these a 1989 red 213s. Runs and drives but needs sills doing. Why the younger generation likes these is beyond me but it's a cool car for a kid to buy and thumbs up to him!

Guys i had a rover 213, Best car i ever owned. The engine far outlasted the body. Please guys get this beauty back on the road and back to its former glory. They are awsome cars . All the best guys .

I had a D Reg 213S, lovely car to drive.

Love the rusty Rover, seems a huge task to fix the rust with a lot of welding. However, well worth saving as so very few left.

Enjoyed the video, I have a 1983 Metro Vanden Plas in the same colour, Cashmere Gold metallic (GMD). Not sure the bouncy throttle work does anything when starting, try a bit more choke instead. By 1984, BL was Austin Rover so not a BL car. Do hope the SD3 returns to the road. All the best with the restoration.👍

It's a Honda thing having the gearbox on the right. The Triumph Acclaim had the same layout.

I’d love a 213. Can’t be many left now? Must be down to single figures surely? Hopefully this one lasts for many more years.

Gearbox is on opposite side because the Honda engines turned the opposite way to the rovers

Looks like very early Rover 213's had the exhaust on the right before moving them to the left. A strange set up as they all had 2 backboxes that were connected with just one tailpipe.

Great car had a 1985 213s til 1999 But the rust was uncontrollable particularly the jacking point sills underneath Doors rotted from inside out.
