Using first 002 Village then 150 Druid upgrade Village to 023

After that get a 420 Ice Monkey and than a 240 supermonkey

This is easier to do, you don't need to check so much if your placement is right and with timing you don't even need to pause

I was grinding a bit through Odyssey and then this challenge hit me.

Are the pops for unlocking new monkey different from the pops displayed on a tower in game? Or is there maybe a bug with the pop count? Because each run of MOAB madness should already give close to three million pops (both MAD and Spirit had well over a million, and the glue had over half a million). So why do we need three runs?
I played three chimps runs (each a bit over two million pops), the new map on all easy and medium difficulties and a few other games (challenges, quests, co-op etc) and I still needed one run of MOAB madness to unlock the Mermonkey. With tower pop count, it took probably closer to 9-10 million pops, and not 3.

What could be used as a substitute for sotf it you don't have enough exp?

If anyone does not have the M.A.D. (I don't and had to find out), just place a permabrew. You may need to control it a bit at the end, but it will do it easily without much difficulty
