I like that you wear loose fitting vintage esque tees as opposed to the normie body fitted muscle shirt

I hit lots of plateaus during my cut this summer, but ever since increasing my calories, creating my own program, and focusing on sleep, my lifts have blown up! Great video mike 🔥

Awesome video. I try to increase the weight five lbs at a time or do another rep with a certain weight. I write everything down in my journal. Today I increased one rep in close grip bench 325-5 at 51 years old

I took about 1.5 years off from lifting weights due to old, nagging injuries causing me to not enjoy the gym anymore. Been back since 2 months ago, lifting 6-7 days a week. The thing that helped me rehab my injuries and feel better is the fact that I dropped my ego completely and worked my way up from doing light weights but focusing on perfect technique and EXPLOSIVENESS. I can't stress enough how my joints and muscles feel more stable and strong ever since working on being explosive with each rep.

This answer worked for me.
Plateuad for a while then pulled my head out of my butt, fixed my nutrition and sleep. Also added frequency. I’m losing weight but still making gains. Helps

Had a 1 month hiatus from my program. Last week came in and benched 5 rep PR, today benched a 1rm PR of 150kg. I dunno man, maybe i needed the lengthy rest period.

I discovered a way to increase my bench personally. I used to get jacked shoulders from starting strength/texas method. Now I do this: I started with a 100kg bench due to shoulder issues and worked up to confortably doing 4 sets of 8 reps. Then I progressed to 120x5. Next week 120x6. Up to 8 reps. Then I switched to 130x5. This week im going for 130x6. Meanwhile I do some volume on 100-110kg and backoff set after my heavy set. (110x8 right now). Then I go and do swissbar bench 3-4 sets of 100kg (medium grip or sometimes small grip, last thing working very good man). After that I do 4 sets 20 reps of 20kg hammer grip dumbell press for tendon strenght. Then I fry triceps 2 excersise. This works for me. If i fail a week to progress ill either add more volume or eat more before training and during the week. I only bench once a week and got to 130x5. Its not much but hell im progressing better then on texas method. Shoulder health is good.

I often spend a few weeks at a time concentrating on a certain muscle group or movement, like back or squats, for example. And when I do I plateau on other lifts, such as OHP or bench. So then I try and spend a bit of time concentrating on training for those movements too.

Love this so much. Stress is so toxic and if not handled correctly, can be devastating to overall health and well-being.
Love the cake analogy... but now I want cake. Great. Thanks Mike😂 Love from Canada 🇨🇦

What’s your opinion on comp deadlifts and comp squats 1 day apart from each other in a training block

If you like Marvin Gaye and Bill Withers you should dig in to some Curtis Mayfield.
