The fact that they don't understand or know why, the stores closing says it all

Blame the dirty demographic that keeps stealing from these businesses all day, everyday.

They wondering why? Is they serious? They know damn well why they closed.

Stop stealing and teach your children not to steal then maybe the businesses might just stay.

They didn't want looting, that's why they didn't announce closing, duhhhh

This alderwoman talks as if Yellow Banana owes that community something. 🤷🏿‍♂️

The Alderwoman is telling the company not to "demonize" the community...borrowing a page from Brandon Johnson.

It's not a "resource", it's a business. There to make money. Not there to serve as a reparations provider. Maybe the community is in dire straits simply because the people of that community prefer to steal rather than pay for their food. Maybe the community needs to get it's sht together and try obeying the law and treating other people with kindness and respect.

What am I missing? Wasn't it reported yesterday that thieves broke into the store and took or trashed everything? Today it sounds like the store closed for no reason.

They didn't want people wrecking things and "protesting" so they just bounced in the middle of the night, probably a smart move lol

We appreciate it only when what we take for granted is gone.

When you're more upset about immigrants moving in the community than your own people robbing stealing and killing each other there's a problem. No company owes you there business. And when you allow people to destroy your community this is the result. It's not the city's job to make people behave.

It's "Save-A-Lot, "
NOT "Loot-A-Lot."
"We don't know why."
"No one axed us our opinion."
Here's an idea... Pool all your community welfare checks into a co-op food store!

That’s what happens when people from the community steal from a store that is providing food for the community

Stores will continue to leave areas where they are being stolen from

Too many people taking resources out of the store without paying for them?

Sad. The community blames the store for closing, but the reason for closing is due to part of the community. They feel that the store should remain open despite the fact that it continues to be broken into and incur losses just so that they won't be inconvenienced by having to travel a mile and a half further. The victim mentality is strong with this one.

You know what you force businesses to leave by the stealing, burglaries, & disrespect for workers. Food stores provide necessary goods and services to the community. Why, damage their property and take their products. This could have been kids or a homeless individual, but for the store management to up and leave indicates a long and deeper issue. This last instance is the camel 🐫 that broke the straw. Hopefully the political leaders can negotiate an agreement. Maybe that ward can provide 24/7 security for a term free of charge to the store owners.
