Dr. Scharfe presented "Reducing False-Positive Results in Newborn Metabolic Screening using Machines Learning"

Dr. Curt Scharfe is an Associate Professor of Genetics at the Yale School of Medicine. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Frankfurt and a PhD in biomedical sciences from the University of Wurzburg. He completed his residency in pediatrics and medical genetics at the University of Munich Children’s Hospital, and his fellowship in clinical molecular genetics at Stanford University with board certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) in 2017. As a DFG postdoctoral fellow with Ronald Davis at Stanford University, he developed technology based on functional genomics screening, transcriptomics, and mass-spectrometry proteomics to identify hundreds of nuclear-encoded mitochondrial protein genes.
