'Burmese Days' by George Orwell is a poignant novel set in 1920s Burma, under British colonial rule. The story, drawing from Orwell's own experiences in the Indian Imperial Police, delves into themes of imperialism, racial prejudice, and the moral dilemmas faced by the protagonist, John Flory. Orwell's critical eye offers a candid and often unsettling portrayal of the complexities and contradictions of colonial life, making 'Burmese Days' a significant work in his literary canon and an important commentary on colonialism.

I am Polish and I am learning English because I live in England. I also love Orwell's work. I have read all of his books and essays in Polish. I fall asleep with your e-book, learning at the same time. I set the speed to 0.5 and I understand everything. You have a very pleasant voice.❤

Terrible. AI can't do inflection, pacing, pronounce words right or even say the slurs. This will never replace an actual narrator
