The most amazing thing about evolution to me is the predictive power. Over and over scientists have hypothesized what we should see and where we should see it based on evolution.

Tiktaalik was a perfect example of a transitional fossil that we found because evolution made a novel prediction that we should find it there. That's good science

Even if there WERE a Creator... it is a poor engineer that designs something that needs to constantly be maintained. The best design is the one that requires no adjustment and will run on it's own.

But I digress, I will gladly say that I don't know that answer. Only that the Universe is amazing, and science keeps opening doors to new knowledge. Love it!

Sagan makes some logical errors here in the first part. He conflates a physical cause of complexity with a supernatural cause. What I mean is that he believes that only showing that there is a physical mechanism to bring order from seemingly chaos it does not follow that there is or is not a supernatural cause. But Sagan seems to think that since he can prove evolution, that means that God is not a cause. that is nonsense.

Carbon 14 dating may not be as accurate as once thought.

Other dating methods are may also have issues with accuracy.

The 6000 years is based on a calculation of James Usher, a priest from the 16 century. And it’s his interpretation. Biblically the information to calculate a date is not present, according to most sources.
