Nas was 19 when he made Illmatic, one of the greatest Hip Hop albums ever.

He’s right about 1999 being one of the greatest mixtapes of all time but he hasn’t dropped an album prolific and with enough identity to really put him up there. And I love Joey. Bros got some amazing projects but sometimes I feel like he doesn’t always have the most direction. Bro can rap at an extremely high level but I just want him to drop an album that’s undeniably cohesive and leaves an impression.

Joey you inspired me to start rapping when you were 17 and 1999 is still my favorite mixtape of all time, but we need many more classics for me to view you near nas.

“I think I could stop now”
Wrong answer bro

I think the reason why Nas and all of them from that era were as big as they were is because hip-hop was still primarily listened to by the enjoyers of the craft in itself. Today, the main reason why hip-hop is topping the charts is because of how catchy, and repeatable the hooks, melodies, and chord progressions are, which have never been the main focus of hip-hop at its core. My 2 cents

Listen 1999 is a classic.
However we need an album. We need one undeniable album.
He hasn’t given us that.
Respectfully.
And I’m a huge Joey and Pro Era fan.

He's was 27 on this interview. And says he want to surpass Nas, & Biggie. 2PAC was 25 when he's the 2nd highest selling rapper in America. Probably the most Iconic with Mural all in Africa, Germany & Italy.

hearing him acknowledge the fact he did in fact make one of the best hip-hop mixtapes of all time is SO surreal.. Like yes give yourself your flowers brother, so many legends don't like they deserve.

Joey has the skill to be high ranked..the thing is Joey doesn’t have mainstream hits ..if you love hip hop you can appreciate his music, he has the type of music built for a certain fan base .

There is no one close to Nas, anyone who makes music or knows it; when I listen to Joey he's good, but I can hear his thought process on rhyming certain words, Nas gives you images, lessons, rhymes and history with such fluidity, the best to ever do it. Kendrick is right around the corner and EM.

I’m from VA I absolutely see Joey as one of them. That being said I’m young. So is he. I think if he gave us more albums at his current quality and higher he’ll go down as that
