I found out through a family search that John Muir's father Daniel Muir and my great great grandmother were brother and sister.. so I have been learning all about John Muir. Sad that some would label him a racist the last 2 years. Thankfully I know that most white ppl at that time held the same view but I also know he changed his view totally about that once he realised how important the indigenous people and black ppl were to him and the landscape. He also realised that he didn't have the same mindset as those who were hell bent on destroying the land when there was mass profits to be made.
