What if The Force (Star Wars Saga) was real?

In the 1950's, the USA researched and experimented on test subjects to acquire special abilities to help their troops beat Soviets in a war scenario. In this timeline, the project came out inconclusive, But in the alternate timeline, the scientists discover a DNA fragment that contained telekinesis, telepathic and other abilities coded inside it. They cracked the code, and discovered the "KL Gene", later known by users as " The Force". The scientists were ordered to keep probing said abilities on test subjects to learn how to control them. Although impressive advancments were made, the Cold War ended before they could be released to the Army. The (X) Files were kept a secret until President Obama rediscovered them in 2012 and made them public in the following year. As a 83% of America voted, the Force was taught to people and they learn to master it. The Jedi Religión, wich exists in our timeline, grows to be the biggest religion in the world. But after just a few weeks of teaching, Obama realized he made the greatest mistake in his career. HUGE waves of chaos, robbery and murder followed the release of the documents of the Force. The goverments of the countries were powerless to stop Force users who mastered it from ravaging anything they wanted. After some months, some elite soldiers loyal to each countries goverment were powerful enough in the Force to stop the Raiders. Strict laws were imposed regarding the Force, and limiting its use strictly to building and Army matters. In opposition to this, an organization called the Sith was created. It became famous as a (ahem.... .... terrorist) group that acted to make everyone use the Force if they wanted. So the two sides made Guerrilla Warfare in a never ending war. More talented Users became highly respected. Eventually becoming talentos enough to stop bullets. As weapons become useless, the World resources were used in the creation of laser guns. These Blasters would not be stopped by the Force, and as a counter measure the Lightsaber would be created, becoming the symbol of the Users, sometimes called "Jedi" or "Sith".


Result; War-torn planet in a war that will find no end. Some Star Wars technology is created, but Interplanetary travel is not possible due to lack of unity and dwindling resources. Many dreams are made true, while many more are destroyed.

Just remember folks, for this competition Cody wants YOU to write the WHOLE scenario- not just the "What if [change] happened?" So I'd recommend using Microsoft word or something to write and edit your scenario, in length, and use the internet to fact check historical events. When you're satisfied just copy and paste into the comments and AHH's Facebook. I most likely won't get round to competing but here's a pretty cool idea of mine; what if the vikings never accepted Christianity, and maybe even converted the English to paganism?

What if Napoleon had won in Russia?

In our timeline, Napoleon's loss in Russia was attributed to the scorched earth tactics and guerrilla warfare by the Russian army, as well as the Russian winter. In this timeline, the Russian army gives battle to Napoleon, instead of retreating. Napoleon decides to invade Russia by taking it over piece by piece. Rather than aiming straight for cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg, he takes Poland and the Ukraine, along several other cities not too deep into Russia and hunkers down for the winter. He liberates the serfs in the territories he has conquered (as he had done with other conquered territories), protects the Orthodox Church and promises to do the same for all of Russia. The following year, unrest occurs in Russia as Napoleon takes Kiev. Months pass, and the serfs go into open rebellion, accomplishing the objective of the Communist Revolution in our timeline, by killing the Tsar and his family in the capital. The Russian army is in disarray and unable to rally a defense against Napoleon. Russia becomes a satellite state of the French similar, a fate shared by German lands "liberated" by Napoleon, which form into the Confederation of the Rhine, respectively. The Russian Empire is reformed into the Russian Republic, in which the serfs elect their own president, who has no issues with being a protectorate of the French, given the state of the country.

In our timeline, Napoleon invaded Russia as a way to force Tsar Alexander I to stop trading with Britain in an attempt to force them to negotiate peace. In this timeline, Napoleon's plan works with resounding success, as no surviving nation in Europe wants to trade with Great Britain in fear of being destroyed by the French. This forces the British to look outside Europe to grow and expand. Great Britain redoubles its efforts to grow and expand in places like India, and even North America. The War of 1812 nearly cost the still-young United States its independence. With more resources being devoted to expanding worldwide, Great Britain manages to defeat the United States, but doesn't manage to absorb it in the initial war. Britain now holds everything north of the states of Pennsylvania and Ohio, which includes the Michigan Territory. The future states of Illinois and Indiana are incorporated into the British Empire. In our timeline, British Raj, or the British Empire in India was officially established in 1858, in our timeline, India is absorbed much earlier, circa 1830 or even the 1840's.

Britain and France would also rapidly begin to colonize Africa and rather than seeing it divided among multiple European powers in our timeline, it would be divided mostly between France and Britain, this would obviously lead to war in the distant future, an alternate WW1 between the French Empire, the British Empire and the allies of both powers.

"What if the Aztecs had not been conquered by Spain"

<<PART I>>

If the Spanish invasion of Hernan Cortes had failed, more Spanish invasions would come. As the Aztecs grew stronger and improved on their technology, the Spaniards would have eventually had no other option but to desist in their attempts and instead go south. The Aztecs would eventually learn to breed and use horses and then would begin to expand their Empire southwards in an attempt to stop the Spaniards until the Aztecs would control all of Central America.

After decades of war, both Spain and Tenochtitlan would encounter the Incas and both Empires would try to work their influence on them. The Aztecs would be successful and would gain a powerful ally. Both Mesoamerican nations would keep improving their military technology and would eventually develop fleets.

Spain would then turn to the Portuguese for aid and they would try to conquer mesoamerica with a powerful alliance but would also fail as the American Empires would have grown too strong. Tenochtitlan would then begin to expand North until reaching Lakota territories and would obtain pretty much the same territory as our timeline's "New Spain" had.

Tenochtitlan would keep its alliance with the Incas, helping them repel European invaders and the Aztecs would begin to expand their territories south to Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana and Northern Brazil. They would become the most powerful Empire in America as they controlled many trading ports and had the strongest military.

The Aztecs would then launch failed invasions to Cuba to try to repel the Spaniards from the continent once and for all. However, with help of the Inca, the Aztecs do repel the Portuguese from Brazil and divide the territory between the two Empires. The Aztecs and the Incas prosper for about 100 years until the United States gain their independence. Separatist movements being to appear wishing to turn the Empire into a democracy but are not very strong at first.

After 50 years, American influence starts taking over the northern territories of the Aztecs. and an independence movement (funded by Americans) goes on in Texas but the Aztecs manage to repel it. The Aztecs fortify their northern border and eventually sign a pact of no aggression with the Americans. Years later, a coalition is formed between the United States and Tenochtitlan to finally overthrow Spain from Cuba. It is eventually successful, and Cuba is now divided between the American region and the Aztec region.

Years of social instability follow for the Aztecs. Democracy movements start gaining power and eventually Democracy is adopted by the Aztecs in the late 19th century.

what if the Minoans and Myceans never disappeared. We would still have the incredibly advanced architecture and technology, the phone I'm typing this on would be a funny antique. Every invention of the modern era would probably be obsolete if nothing had happened. Not to mention that history would have gone down a very different path, and let's face it, none of us would be alive.

We don't actually know very much about the Minoans, because their records aren't written in an alphabet we still understand, but we know a few things. 1) they were warlike, as evidenced in the amount of axe heads found in Creat, and Theses and the Minotaure suggests the Athenians were concured in some way by the Minoans. 2) they worshipped a bull headed god. In the ruins we found in Crete, there were bulls upon golden bulls.

In this timeline, whatever caused the Minoans to leave Crete just didnt happen. They continue to exist as they did before, and start expanding further. They create colonies throughout Greece, uniting the Hellenistic people into a Greece several centuries before the Romans were even around. They go on to concure all southern Europe. They take over the rest of Europe, easily outstripping the rest of the world from a technological perspective. Eventually, they make their way over to Asia, and conquer the land the Monguls did in our timeline. They end up uniting all of Afroeurasia, but such a large empire is very hard to control and when they eventually fall, the Minoans fall to disease. An early from of the Black Plague kills off half of the known world, even with the advanced technology these people had. It's worth noting that at this point, about a millennium has passed but think more 5th century China tech wise. However, disease spreads easily through this intrically connected empire, and the empire falls into 5 still massive Empires: the parts of Africa that were culturally similar pre-invasion, the descendants of the dynasty overthrown in China retake most of modern day Asia, aside from India and the Middle East, the Medterainien regions forming a rich country grown fat off trade, and Europe. They establish a trading alliance to prevent a large scale war killing all the survivors of the plague and go their separate ways.

Germany never forms:

Prussia loses the 7 Weeks War disastrously, and Austria strips away most of Prussia's power and territory for herself. Despite a weakened Prussia, it still manages to stir discontent among the other German states to strike against Austrian aggression. Most of this diplomatic play is done by Otto Von Bismarck. Eventually, Prussia regains some of its former power, but Austria remains the head of the German Confederation.
After the humiliation in the loss of Italian land, Austria looks once more to an old friend: France, who is also wary of the vengeful Prussia and newly-formed Italy. The two both split all of Germany between themselves, destroying the hopes that there ever will be a Germany.

Because Germany never formed, the industrial might the German Empire had was never exploited to its full potential. Nationalist movements constantly occurred for both countries, as well as protestant riots. World War I would be very different, with no Germany to sign the Blank Check, the conflict was simply called the Russo-Austrian War.
Eventually, the weakened Austro-Hungarian Empire collapses due to both a crippling debt and a communist revolt, which is soon replaced by the exiled monarchy. Namibia and Tanzania are colonized by Britain, and the Germans become a people without of state. The German regions are quickly fought over by the newly independent Poland (the Russian Revolution still occurs), Austria, and France. And due to the lack of industry in the other great powers, Britain becomes an unchallenged superpower. World War Two never happens, but the Jews of Germany still face persecution by Austrian and French governments

Today Germany is divided between many different nations, including Denmark, Poland, Austria (which controls most of its normal territory in 1914 except for Transylvania and Poland), France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Britain. Some small states have achieved independence, but none are strong enough to unify Germany as one. The German region now becomes a melting pot, as French, Austrians, Englishmen, Danes, Belgians, and more coexist with the majorly German population. On a whole, the German language almost dies out, except for in Austria, being forcefully replaced by the conqueror's tongue. The region still holds much resources and factories, but no nation dares to take on the other for total control.

What if the Darien Scheme was successful?

History:
At the time, Scotland had a suffering economy that once thrived on shipbuilding and it needed to sway off the English influence as they were in a royal union. Several civil wars and the "seven ill years" saw massive famines that would have resulted in English union. The Darien Scheme was seen as a way to rebuild Scotland as a mercantile power by creating a colony in Panama. English and Dutch commercial interests dropped sharply as they felt that the Scotland was being unrealistic, England was already at war with France and they did not want to drop relations with Spain who claimed the territory. However, the Scotts managed to raise money and sailed to Caledonia. Bad conditions and tensions with the Spanish ended up in 4/5ths of the population dying and the Scotts had to return. With their economy at an all-time low, Scotland decided to join in political union with the UK

Alternate History:

The events leading up to the settlements would not have been much different with the exception of the England supporting Scotland in the endeavor (very unrealistic but for the sake of the scenario). This would have resulted in Scotland joining the Queen Anne's War for control of North America. England and Scotland would have had to start attacking New Granada which would have resulted in a much longer war and it might have resulted in a French victory over Acadia and Eastern Canada. Spain would have to make a deal with Scotland for a small cession of territory on the isthmus.The rest of modern-day Panama is ceded by Spain to the surrounding colonies. Once the Scottish settlers landed at "Caledonia", they started to have problems with agriculture leading to famine. In this alternate scenario, the native Americans would have been interested in Scottish crafts and would have assisted the Scottish with their agricultural and fishing. From there on, the Scotts would have had to resist more Spanish attacks. Although this would be unlikely, a treaty between Spain and Scotland in this timeline would result in access to the Pacific in exchange for open borders through Caledonia. From here on, ventures of a canal would most attempted but failed due to disease. In the late 19th century when Caledonia declares independence from a Scotland that never joined with England in the Acts of Union. An independent Caledonia develops and both countries remain marginally developed nations at the scale of Belgium. Later in the 20th Century, the United States fully finishes the canal and keeps close ties with Caledonia. There is no dictatorship in Caledonia and no US Invasion or intervention. At modern times, Scotland remains independent and strong while Caledonia remains a developed country with a strong Scottish cultural influence similar to that of Curacao and the Netherlands.

In this alternate scenario, the United States is the only country to ever develop a nuclear weapon of any sort. This would mean that there would be no Cold War between the United States and it's political opponent, the Soviet Union. Because of this, the United States is the only remaining superpower and reigns supreme over the rest of the world (slightly similar to our timeline but on a much larger scale). Ideologies like Communism and Socialism are essentially fazed out (in the sense that they aren't practiced or are practiced very little). Capitalism is the dominant economic and political system of the vast majority of the world as it faces little to no opposition. Even in places like China, Russia, Eastern Europe and Northern Korea (which would probably be just part of a united Korea with a capital based in Seoul) itself would be engulfed into a consumerist society. Corporations would have much more freedom than in our timeline and it is likely that huge, international monopolies could become commonplace. Whether this would be a good thing or a bad thing is subject to opinion. P.S. I don't dislike capitalism.
