The Ghost Train Theme (Series 2)

Thought I'd get back at finishing off some more Series 1 and 2 stuff. I like the fact they borrowed the horror motif from 'The Flying Kipper' with the classic string stabs reminiscent of old Horror movies.
The thing that did creep me out though, was Percy covered in toilet paper. He actually looked scary, along with Boulder's face and close ups of that dreaded troublesome truck from Series 1 would always make me uncomfortable as a kid lol.

This theme is unsettling in a way unlike the S5 music - this is more along the lines of traditional infrasonic horror music and creeps its way into your ears. A sensory assault like none other. Very, very good rendition.

I'll always have respect for whichever production crew member had the idea to Feature the Thomas Anthem song at the beginning of the Percy's Ghostly Trick DVD, so after the cheerful, light hearted music video ended, you're immediately greeted with this!

I love S5's ominous music of the Proteus woodwind and string instruments (like in Haunted Henry for exmaple). But personally, the use of the Jupiter presets used in S1-2 for scary/danger themes like this one just sounds way more unsettling and creepy (or tense and nerve-wrecking depending on the theme). This theme sounds like it's out of a horror film and that's why I like it. It perfectly sets the mood for the beginning of Percy's Ghostly Trick. Definetly one of the most iconic themes of S2 and the classic series overall.

The intro to this episode gave me nightmares. As a 16 year old I now realize I was terrified of what amounted to a model train with shredded toilet paper on it. It scary to think that they just wasted toilet paper though!!!

Damn, this gave me chills like I was a kid again! I couldn't watch this part when I was like... 5, and I am remembering why as a 30 yr old, now. I can clearly remember the uncomfortable slow movement of the engine and the wild sheet whipping behind it. I've got goosebumps, man!
