Inter-app Communication with ArcGIS Apps

Esri Apps like Collector, Survey123, Explorer, Workforce and Navigator all have the ability to communicate with one another via a technology called the app link. This powerful technology addresses many different workflows which involve multiple apps working together in complex real world workflows. 3rd party apps can also make use of this technology to create a whole host of native and web applications that can invoke Esri Native apps within the scope of a larger workflow. Does the inter-app communication work with other mapping apps such as Google Maps? Or is the example in the video the only option for when an assignment is completed via Navigator App?
