Accusative case in German language grammar explained with examples. Lesson 15 of A1 level of German language course designed for absolute beginners clarifies the meaning of German accusative case in a simple way. Accusative case in German language corresponds to the direct object of sentence and direct object of sentence receives action from the subject of sentence which is nominative case in German language.
There are multiple way through which a certain section of sentence will receive the rules of accusative case in German language. First way is explained above.
2nd way is to check if there is some preposition used in the sentence. There are 5 prepositions which acts like accusative prepositions in German language and the definite and indefinite articles, personal pronouns, possessive pronouns and adjectives that come after the accusative prepositions in German language, will take the rules of German accusative case.
3rd way where we need to apply the rules of accusative case in German language is when we use 2 way prepositions in German language. 2 way prepositions in German language either act like accusative prepositions in German language or dative prepositions. If there is some movement in the sentence, then these prepositions act like accusative prepositions, if however, there is no movement in the sentence, then these prepositions act like dative prepositions.
