When you're saved you're baptized at that moment in the Holy Ghost. I do agree we should still get publicity baptized in water and have personally. I also think when it says "The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, ) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:" when it says not the putting away of the filth of the flesh it is clear while we are to obey the Lord and sin no more it isn't the lack of our sinning that saved us but rather the baptism by the washing of the blood which takes away our sin. I know we may disagree on if you can be a truly saved person and fall away but I know you see that in this verse it isn't our perfection that gains us eternal life. Love ya brother. Also water is a name used to describe the word of God. Saved by water aka saved by the word of God which is Jesus who is the word made flesh.
