I usually make a date 1hour - 1.5 hour tops- escalate kiss couple times and then leave. Might be exceptions of going to my place but that model works nicely. I just w8 for her to hit me back with something.

You left out that the girl probably wants you to succeed otherwise she wasted her time on a bad date.

She may actually nudge the trajectory of the date in the right general direction, because she doesn't want to have a bad time.

It's almost like the rubber banding in Mario Kart so the races stay somewhat competitive. You can still lose if you mess up really bad. You might win or lose due to a stroke of luck at a pivotal moment. Skill usually wins over luck but it's not purely a game of skill. Most importantly, have fun and don't think you're a bad person for losing because it happens to everyone. You get a fresh start next time and hopefully you've improved with practice.
