The first generation English converts to Islam were intelligent, cultured, erudite, sophisticated, spiritual, enigmatic and great muslims. Hopefully more and more British muslims will become well acquainted with them all.

This is the first time for me to see someone talks about this era, especially from an Islamic perspective. Very unique & informative content. Thank you brother Paul.

Excellent work! Thank you Paul & Yahya Birt for reviving the memory of perhaps the first British muslim community & their efforts to plant the seeds of an alternative monotheistic view of life. May God reward the efforts of all those involved.

btw, that was a great recital of Quilliam's hymm by Yahya, and such a pleasant surprise. I may well memorise it myself, it would be nice to sing whilst on a scenic walk somewhere.

Invigorating from the start, Brother Paul and Birt brings new insight into the struggles of British Muslims and their contributions to British society. A start to a wonder anthology of Islam!

Paul, i was wondering if you would ever talk about your Turkey trip, how it went, what you thought of the people, History, culture etc. Also you met Lauren Booth there, how did the meeting go, and what did you guys discuss? Im sure we'd all love to know. Thanks
