Just the mention of "Airbnb" creeps me out. Someone else's house? Really? I don't know what they cost to rent but a motel or even a hotel are the only places I'd ever stay while away from home.
I once (late 1990s) stayed at a motel in a small-ish Iowa town that was clean, had a full kitchen, two bedrooms, a large living room and full free breakfast in the lobby. $26/night. Those days have long since passed though. Now, staying at a so-called low-cost chain motel like Super 8 is crazy expensive but almost anything is better than a creepy Airbnb.

My wife and I, along with two other couples stay at AIRBNBs several times a year. It's a chance for us to get away for a long weekend, and enjoy ourselves. The problem for somebody screwing with us is, we're retired cops. It would be a terrible mistake to interrupt our little getaway.
