I saw a documentary about the Silk Road Ensemble on a recent flight, and I was an instant fan! I love their work!

You know, if you don't want to see music on TED, you don't have to. Just don't click on the video! It's that easy.

Omg this sounds so Turkish to me. Especially to what the gypsies in Turkey produce. They're great at making music and in some way this sounds to like their music.

This is a strange mix. Apparently the ensemble was created by Yo-Yo Ma and it clearly includes a diverse group but with no roma or romanian members. The ensemble plays a song that it claims to be a traditional roma song but the title is in Romanian. What is the link? The violin solo at the start sounds similar to the work of one of the great Romanian composers but i see no other link. I guess the "attribution" of the song is intentionally hazy to convey more ethnic diversity...

Just replace all of the political crap on TED with music. Much better!

While I like the elements very much, this just felt too busy to appreciate it.

As wonderful as this cellist is, I'm a little disappointed that it's not Yo-yo Ma.
