In this talk, Saloni Dattani, a researcher on global health at Our World in Data, speaks about the topic of 'missing data' in global health. Our knowledge of the prevalence of malaria, Covid and other diseases, mental illness, the rates of antibiotic resistance, the causes of death and even the number of deaths, is limited in many countries because of a lack of testing, surveys and health infrastructure. This talk covers some examples of this problem, its consequences, and some ideas for how the situation can be improved. This talk is aimed at students, early-career individuals and researchers who want to know about the large impact that can be made by collecting primary data on the global health problems that people face around the world.
