Показать описание
Dr. Francis Andrews tells you everything you need to know about strep A, but also asks you to remember to trust your instincts as a parent.
He covers:
- the symptoms of strep A
- when to contact 111 or your GP
- when to call 999 or attend your Emergency Department
- who will decide if your child needs antibiotics
- who is more at risk
- how to help prevent the spread of infection
- how you get strep A
Most strep A infections are not serious and can be treated with antibiotics.
But rarely, the infection can cause serious problems. This is called invasive group A strep (iGAS).
Francis is Bolton NHS Foundation Trust's medical director.
