DoF is also related to the body (well the size of the sensor in the body), because if your sensor is too small, the FoV (field of view) will be too narrow, making your shallow DoF long fast lens (in this case 85mm/1.8) hard to frame due to that so called crop factor.
That's why smaller cameras can have smaller lenses with shorter focal lengths, because the smaller sensors.

@ramanmono Yes but the DOF caused by the sensor is neglectable when you use 1.4 or 1.8 lenses...

What type of format do you use when rendering the videos for youtube?

@videotitan1 This mean that Nikon finally have a camera that can record video as good as Canon.

Why would you pay 5grand for it though when the 550D has just as good DOF

@dantask8 Nope, it's about both.

DOF is related to the lens not the body.
A long tele or big diafragma has a short DOF so only a small part of the photo or video is sharp.
Standard zoomlenses have a big DOF which means a big part of the photo or video is sharp.

I doubt that someone who would get a test-model from Nikon wouldn't know that...

DOF is not related to the camerabody !!!

I think the DoF is about the lens, not about the camera.
