Very helpful.When you said dig deep in your community I felt that because I did that for my local Community Foundation (national for all us student go look into your nearest one.) and they emailed me back less than 30 mins ( I emailed 2 ppl they both answered ) and they are putting a hour in for me to call them and talk about scholarships and where to find them and I’m a incoming hs freshman so I’m impressed. Local matters guys! Find a way no matter what people say even teachers. I had teachers saying I should worry about it till senior year during the summer.

The first time I saw you was at a virtual college board meeting that was educating us on financial aid, and hearing your story really inspired me to start applying to scholarships myself. I had no idea there was so many opportunities for juniors in high school. I reached out to many of my teachers and counselors about scholarship opportunities and they told me, “You have time. You don’t have to worry about that until your senior year” and I’m so glad I didn’t listen to them. I only started applying to scholarships this month, and I completed 6 scholarship essays/ videos so far. I love to write so it isn’t a problem for me, but this video is so helpful! I can already see some mistakes I’m making, and I’m so glad you helped me catch them earlier in the process. What you’re doing is absolutely amazing! I wish we knew about this when my older sisters were going to college :)
