I was going to say Daddy Long Legs!! You will love it. Also The Moffats are great—a lot like the Melendy books which I think might also fit in this category—The Saturdays, Four Story Mistake, etc. You recommended so many of my all-time favorites in this category that I am going to have to read all your other recommendations!

What a fantastic list! So many of my favorites on this list and books I would love to read. Daddy-Long-Legs is such a treat! One of my favorites, too (and the sequel!). I've never heard of Family Grandstand, but it sounds right up my alley. I put a hold on it!

I read aloud Miracles on Maple Hill in January and looooved it. I then read Curious Missie by the same author and it was so good I read it twice in a few weeks. It's definitely light academia.

Daddy Long Legs and it's companion novel Dear Enemy are both fantastic! If you love the strong family theme, I HIGHLY recommend The Vanderbeekers series. Every single one is just so heartwarming.
