2024 Outback Wilderness Wheel and Tire Setup | Not What You Think!

Deciding on wheels and tires for your newly acquired Subaru Outback Wilderness? I, too, was in that same boat and looking for that perfect setup that added a little bit of pop to the vehicle and pushed those tires out a bit without having to install a set of wheel spacers. Although these wheels don't match the vehicle's bronze color the way I would like them to, the stance is unbeatable, and the aggressive look gave me exactly what I was searching for.

Wheels - Sparco Dakar
Tires - Nitto Nomad Grappler

I had LP Aventure rims on my 2022 with 245 65 17 ko2 tires, looked almost identical, black outback on bronze rims. 2” lp Aventure lift and .5” rallitec springs.

As An Engineer, offset wheels is always better than adding another element like a spacer. Spacers can increase the runout on the wheel mounting surface and accelerate bearing wear.

5:08 reminds me of Dakar Rally (perhaps they're named after it?), which has a badass logo.

I dont know if this has been commented but @3:40 you stay "a plus offset brings your tires IN, so plus means IN. *fingers pointing in* minus means out *fingers pointing out* " then at @4:53 you say "I wanted to go out...*finges pointed out*" Then @7:00 "but they have them at PLUS 20mm offset. Which means I can have that more aggresive stance." I dont wanna pry but which is which. is the plus in or out? Im a new Subaru owner and I really wanna upgrade my tire game soon.

You're one of the reasons we got the Nitto Nomad Grapplers on our Toyota Highlander. Thank you, they're awesome

New subscriber from Kentucky, , loving the content! As a long time large truck owner and now age catching up with me I have decided to get an Outback for the ease of getting in and out of vehicles but still capable of getting to my hunting areas. Thank you for the great videos.

I have 17x7.5 LP1s with +35mm offset as well, with OEM hub bores (hubcentric).
The factory wheels have a +48mm offset.
For people who aren't sure how much farther away from the engine the wheels (like mine) will look:
48mm - 35mm = 13mm
So, the higher the positive offset number, the closer the wheels are to the engine. +35mm offset pushes the wheels 13mm farther away from the engine than the +48mm offset OEM wheels.

I’m running the new Milestar Patagonia A/T Pro in a 265/60R18 (30.5/10.50) on a black rhino +38 with a 20mm spacer. Without the spacer I could’ve fit the tires easy but because of the extra offset I had to trim a ton

So no suspension work at all? I am looking to get a KO2 at 245x65x17 will it fit with no issues. I am also contemplating on either getting a suspension done or keep it original?

Can’t find Dakars with a +20 offset anywhere. Just +38, which is still wider than stock at least

Im curious, I lifted mine with a 2" front and 2.5" rear RalliTek spacer kit only which is said to be perfect without any aftermarket swings or shock additional after alignment. I even called RalliTek support, and they said it should be fine without any other modifications. I have about 600-700 lbs of top cargo box, rear swing arm, Jerry Cans, built back for bed, portable ridge and camping gear. After about two months of driving, suddenly I felt the car's steering feel loose on the highway, I kept having to combat the swaying motion of the vehicle while driving straight. The dealership told me it's normal to have the car feel this way with the extra gear and lift. I'm curious if you had this same experience since you have a lift and carry extra gear? Additionally, if it is normal, why didn't it feel that way the first two months of driving the vehicle this way?

Great build Josh. I’m wondering if I can go factory OBW wheels with the Perrin 20mm hub centric spacers like you mention and just got a taller AT tire like KO2/3 or Nomad grapplers in 245/65/R17.

Get to the point early in the video tire and wheels specs you went with. What most viewers want to know up front.

Could you please give a detailed rundown of the nomad grapplers vs the stock geolandar g015? I'd love to know your comparison on the following: wet/dry traction, cornering feel, sidewall stiffness, noise, acceleration, off road traction.

Do you notice a MPG hit compared to the stock geolandars?
Thank you!

does the wheel offset have major effects in handling or offroading? or is it just style/stance? im looking at the lp1's with ET20 offset.

Anyone think it’s worth doing wheels, tires and lift to a 22 Outback Limited? Thanks!

I just picked up a silver OBW on Monday, loving it so far. I really like the stock wheels/tires but you're tempting me. Going to see how she looks with spacers and go from there. Thanks for sharing this info, very helpful. Anyone ever tell you that you look like George Kittle?
