I hear a lot of people say that Generations is one of the most overrated packs in Sims 3, but I feel like it's a pretty solid addition. What do you think?

I still think it's one of the best packs of all time; it, along with Seasons and Supernatural, is one of the three packs I ALWAYS play with (I usually play with five or six packs enabled - the others change depending on the type of storyline I'm working on). I don't think I even noticed that it didn't come with its own world. ^^;

Issue is: Idk if I use the features of Generations so often that I forget that they're from this pack OR if I never use the features of this pack and hence don't know what features are really included.

Like, ik what features are included, but I'm never aware of them in-game - either because they're so seamless or because they're so inconsequential

Generations is a must have just for how much it adds to especially teenagers. I didn't like playing as them before, but Generations changed that. Definitely a Top 3 expansion along with Seasons and Supernatural

Generations is in my top 5 most played. I usually combine it with ambitions, Pets, and Seasons. ❤

You didn't mention it adds tons of interactions for teens kids abd elder sims. Its really not fun playing without generations

Generations comes with a park, you just have to find it in the folder and place it yourself

I remember when I was young there was a gaming shop that sold sims and my dad asked me what I wanted my sister bought her sims 3 and late night there so J chose generations and I enjoyed it so much to be honest was so worth the money

A good expansion pack doesn’t necessarily have to come with a world. Growing Together is a living proof…

The only downside is that it seems to focus A LOT on teens and adults but not anyone else so it feels like kids are heavily ignored which is something I DO like about ts4 parenthood where it focuses a balance on teens, kids and toddlers (but lacks in adults and elders)

Sims rly is a "pick your poison" series

If it came with Hobby system from Sims 2 Freetime it would be a good expansion

I believe Supernatural was the best expansion pack followed by seasons and island paradise

Sadly, it is overrated to me

Any expansion that doesn't come with a new town is an immediate drop of one grade to me. Might as well be a base game update at this point. This would have been an amazing town with generational elements in it, interesting lore, etc...

Not much features for elders which has always been the most neglected age group. In fact generations should have more stuff for elders than the other age groups. New lot types like retirement homes/ nursing homes could have been in this pack. Which would open up the new caretaker career where Sims take care of elders and their needs

Also it came with no lifetime wishes in this which is quite surprising because they could easily come up with a few of them

Perfect spouse- spend 65 Sim days married to just one other Sim with maxed relationship (number will rise proportionally to the age edit option)

Crawling with offspring- have six grandchildren

Generational rock- be an elder and have one Sim of adult/young adult/teen/child/toddler/ baby that's related to you in your household.

Guardian of the children- get max satisfaction from 65 families in the daycare career

Caretaker maven- be best friends with 10 elders

These are some lifetime wishes I thought of. There was one that's unused in the game which is the imagination friend lifetime wish. But really, just the IF aspect?

It makes me think Generations was rushed out to fit a deadline for expansion packs.
